Alan is building the new standard in prevention insurance, integrating insurance, prevention, and care into a single user experience. The company serves 1M+ members across 40K+ partner companies and has reached €800M+ in ARR with 800+ employees. The Work Environment team builds Alan's internal platform—a Tier-1 product that serves as the company's operating system. You'll lead a small, fast-growing engineering team responsible for critical internal infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: - Leading Alan Home, the internal portal every employee uses daily, serving as the source of truth for identity, access, and organizational information. - Building and maintaining the automation platform, Identity & Access Management, Privileged Access Management, and user lifecycle automation across 25+ systems. - Making strategic decisions about which vendor tools to replace with Alan-native software, holding teams accountable to ROI and fit. - Hiring, shaping, and developing a growing engineering team while maintaining high talent density and strong onboarding practices. - Establishing technical direction, architecture standards, quality practices, and incident response protocols for systems every employee depends on. - Staying hands-on: reviewing code, writing code, and mentoring engineers while leading. You'll work in a unique culture built on radical transparency, written communication, distributed decision-making, and minimal meetings by default. The company is now leveraging agentic AI to personalize this approach further, with AI agents handling organizational complexity and surfacing context instantly. Required qualifications: - 3+ years leading engineering teams with a track record of building high performers. - Experience establishing engineering excellence standards and guiding architectural decisions. - Recent hands-on technical experience; you still code and review code regularly. - Ability to partner with product functions as an equal, shaping roadmaps and naming trade-offs honestly. - Fluency in English (French is a plus but not required). - Legal eligibility to work in France, Belgium, or Spain. Alan provides dedicated coaching for all employees, with additional leadership development support for managers.
