GetYourGuide is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Central Data Products team, a horizontal data and ML organization that builds foundational systems powering the company's marketplace. The team owns critical products including location and travel category tagging, landing page eligibility frameworks, destination maps, travel-relevance models, and customer lifetime value prediction—many of which leverage LLMs in production.
You will lead a senior, cross-functional team of Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, and a Product Manager, with accountability for both team development and company-level business impact. Key responsibilities include:
• Hiring, performance management, and mentorship of senior technical talent in a domain spanning classical ML, LLMs, and production data infrastructure
• Roadmap and portfolio management across diverse horizontal data products, balancing exploration, productionalization, and operations
• Solving complex technical challenges spanning multiple services and business domains
• Driving adoption of data products across Consumer, Growth, and Supply clusters—ownership extends beyond delivery to operationalization
• Raising operational standards: quality baselines, LLM-as-judge monitoring, incident management, reliable at-scale pipelines
• Building strategic partnerships with senior stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales
You bring a strong technical background in machine learning and engineering, enabling you to evaluate modeling approaches, data architecture, and production systems. You excel at translating technical results into business decisions, leading ambiguous problems with a bias toward directional first versions, and developing high-performing teams. Experience with horizontal/platform data products, ML/data in production, LLM applications at scale, marketplace/e-commerce domains, and high-growth environments is valued.
GetYourGuide offers a hybrid working model (3 days in-office: Mon, Tue, Thu; 2 optional remote days), annual personal growth budget, mentorship programs, and the ability to work remotely up to 30 days per year. The role is based in Berlin HQ with opportunities across global offices.
