ARX Robotics is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the critical bridge between their Mithra OS autonomous systems and customers' real-world operational needs. In this hands-on role, you will deploy cutting-edge autonomous ground systems into mission-critical defense and first-responder environments, translating complex customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
You will own the full lifecycle of customer integrations: from initial planning and system configuration through live deployment, troubleshooting, and field demonstrations. Your responsibilities include developing custom software extensions and adapters using modern APIs and SDKs, orchestrating field deployments at customer sites, and serving as the technical voice of the customer back to the product team. You'll ensure every integration is production-ready, maintainable, and capable of withstanding real-world operational stress.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience building and deploying software for robotics, defense, or complex industrial systems, with strong hands-on skills in C++ and ROS2. You should have deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, and event-driven architecture. Equally important is your ability to partner directly with customers and operators, understand their operational world, and translate ambitions into clear technical requirements. You thrive troubleshooting complex systems in challenging field environments, maintain a calm and pragmatic approach under pressure, and communicate technical concepts clearly in English (German is a plus).
