Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, with ownership spanning the entire manufacturing value chain including design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and work documentation.
In this role, you will own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) of electro-mechanical assemblies. Key responsibilities include driving process improvements and operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events; partnering with Product Quality Engineering to support root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns; collaborating with Design Engineering teams during early and late development phases to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFx) guidance; developing process flows and breaking down complex assemblies into logical sub-processes; writing manufacturing documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements; working with contract manufacturers across disciplines (PCBA fab, metallic manufacturing, assembly) to develop repeatable processes for both quick-turn development and at-scale production; and contributing hands-on to prototype hardware development alongside technicians and engineers.
You will also contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection. The role requires 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware, with demonstrated ability to deliver hardware in resource-constrained environments. Required qualifications include a degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science preferred), personal hands-on experience with manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly), familiarity with tools like JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP), and experience with RF products requiring system AI&T. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
