Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join the R&D team at their Costa Mesa headquarters. This role focuses on early-stage development of complex defense systems, including mechanical structures, batteries, mechanisms, actuators, motors, power systems, PCBAs, sensors, and payloads. You will own the full lifecycle of concept evaluation through prototype development and production transition, working with high autonomy on blue-sky engineering problems. Key responsibilities include executing rapid engineering concept evaluations across multiple disciplines, identifying and managing vendor relationships, performing trade studies and physics-based analysis, designing and testing complex electro-mechanical systems, leading design reviews, building and testing prototypes, analyzing failures, and supporting hardware demonstrations with customers and leadership. You will travel to test sites, vendors, and customer demonstrations as needed. Required qualifications include 8+ years of professional mechanical and/or electrical design experience, proficiency in CAD (any platform) and ECAD tools (Altium, KiCAD, etc.), PCB design experience, strong command of engineering first principles, BS/MS/PhD in engineering or equivalent, and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance. Preferred qualifications include experience with NX and Teamcenter PLM, advanced design skills in machining, composites, sheet metal, and injection molding, hands-on prototyping capabilities, practical experience with electrical engineering tools, expertise in power systems, battery management, PCBA design, wiring harness design, controls, robotics, motor/servo drive systems, microcontroller design from schematic to bringup, firmware/software experience (Arduino or similar), and experience developing complex electronics hardware products such as UAVs, wearables, high-power electric propulsion, or optical systems.
