Flex is a growth-stage fintech company headquartered in NYC that is transforming the rent payment experience. The company enables renters to pay rent on flexible schedules that fit their finances, addressing a massive pain point in the rental market.
You will serve as Senior Director of Product for a new venture within Flex, reporting to the Chief Product Officer. This is a high-visibility, pivotal leadership role with significant autonomy and resources. You will be the single-threaded owner of the entire product function for this new business line, partnering closely with the General Manager to build a new product portfolio from 0-to-1.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining multi-year business and product strategy for new ventures in partnership with the GM
- Building and leading a high-performing team of senior product managers, fostering a culture of rapid experimentation and customer discovery
- Owning the complete product lifecycle from concept through launch and scale, translating ambiguous strategic concepts into coherent product vision, lean MVPs, and metrics-driven roadmaps
- Establishing continuous customer discovery, rapid prototyping, and market validation frameworks
- Serving as primary product evangelist, communicating strategy, roadmap, and progress to executive leadership
- Defining and owning key product metrics, holding accountability for product-market fit and early commercial targets with strong P&L orientation
You will have the unique opportunity to operate with startup autonomy while leveraging the resources and support of an established market leader. This is not an optimization role—you are navigating extreme ambiguity to find product-market fit and establish Flex's next major revenue stream.
Required qualifications: 10+ years in product management with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role (Director or Sr. Director) managing other product managers. You must have a clear, demonstrable history of leading 0-to-1 product launches and scaling products from MVP to validated, growing business lines. Strong business and commercial acumen with P&L awareness or direct P&L influence is essential. Exceptional executive presence and proven ability to communicate complex strategies to C-level leadership. Demonstrated talent for hiring, managing, and developing senior-level product talent. Comfort operating with high autonomy in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Bonus qualifications include founder or co-founder experience, experience in innovation labs or startup-within-company environments, and fintech or proptech background.
