Oklo is seeking a Senior Director of Power Origination to lead commercial dealmaking for power offtake agreements across its Aurora advanced fission powerhouse projects. This is a strategic business development role reporting to the VP of Origination.
You will own the full customer pipeline lifecycle—from initial outreach through signed power purchase agreements (PPAs)—across multiple customer segments: AI datacenters, hyperscalers, industrial customers, utilities, and federal/DoD buyers. Key responsibilities include:
**Customer Pipeline & Business Development**
Build and manage the power offtake pipeline in partnership with Oklo's Business Development team. Develop origination strategy for AI datacenters, hyperscalers, C&I industrials, utilities, and federal buyers. Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with power procurement leads at priority customers. Manage a structured CRM pipeline covering all active opportunities from first contact through executed agreement.
**Utility Offtaker Relationships**
Serve as Oklo's senior point of contact for utility relationships, spanning investor-owned utilities (IOUs), public power authorities, electric cooperatives, and municipal utilities. Lead utility RFP processes, integrated resource planning (IRP) engagements, and state regulatory dockets. Track utility load forecasts, resource adequacy filings, and clean energy procurement targets to identify high-probability offtake opportunities.
**PPA Negotiation & Execution**
Lead negotiation of long-term PPAs, tolling agreements, and energy services contracts. Work closely with Legal to develop Oklo's standard PPA template and manage contract execution. Structure offtake arrangements that are bankable for project finance, coordinating with Finance and lenders on required contract terms and credit support.
**Market Positioning**
Partner with the Director of Market Analytics on competitive pricing strategies and customer-specific value analyses. Develop customer-facing materials including pitch decks, term sheets, RFP responses, and technical briefings. Track the competitive corporate PPA and utility offtake landscape, including bilateral nuclear deals and emerging clean firm power products.
Oklo is an advanced fission company that received the first site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial advanced fission plant and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
**Requirements:**
- 10+ years in power origination, energy commercial development, or structured energy sales with a direct track record closing long-term PPAs
- Demonstrated experience selling to at least two of: AI datacenters/hyperscalers, C&I industrials, IOUs, or federal agencies
- Deep familiarity with PPA structures, energy contract terms, and bankability requirements for project-financed generation assets
- Strong negotiation skills and experience leading commercial discussions at C-suite and VP level
- Ability to translate complex nuclear technology into clear commercial value propositions
- Startup mindset: comfortable in fast-paced, highly iterative environments; self-motivated; excellent communicator; detail-oriented; creative problem-solver
