As Senior Director of Information Risk & Governance, you will serve as the company's second-line-of-defense leader for information technology risk—an independent risk, governance, and assurance function reporting to the General Counsel. This role is deliberately separated from operational security teams to provide objective oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
• Own and maintain the information security risk register, serving as a leadership application for risk visibility and decision-making across the organization
• Establish and run cross-functional governance programs that connect existing assets (policies, vendor intake, access reviews, trust center, incident response tooling) into coherent, enterprise-credible programs
• Provide program governance, risk decision support, escalation management, and remediation-plan calibration
• Partner closely with the Head of Security Engineering on certification readiness, audit evidence production, and customer security response workflows
• Represent the company's risk and governance posture to strategic clients, auditors, and assessors
• Drive enterprise-credible information technology risk and governance frameworks as Modern Health scales into regulated clients (health plans, financial services, global employers)
• Deliver executive reporting and client-facing support on risk and compliance matters
The role requires someone who can synthesize complex risk landscapes, communicate with C-suite and external stakeholders, and build governance structures that scale with a hyper-growth company. Modern Health is a fully remote organization with overlapping hours required; US-based team members outside Pacific time are expected to work at least six hours between 8 am–5 pm PT daily.
