TradingView, the world's largest financial analysis platform with 100M+ users across 180+ countries, is seeking a Senior Director for Market Data to lead its global market data commercial strategy and operations.
In this role, you will own the strategic and commercial aspects of TradingView's market data portfolio, which spans exchanges and data providers worldwide. You will define and execute the commercial strategy for sourcing and licensing market data globally, own relationships with major exchanges and data providers, and lead complex negotiations on pricing, tiers, enterprise agreements, usage models, and commercial terms.
Key responsibilities include:
**Market Data Commercial Strategy**: Define TradingView's global market data commercial strategy, own strategic relationships with exchanges and providers, lead major negotiations on pricing and terms, identify cost reduction and commercial improvement opportunities, evaluate consolidation and restructuring opportunities, and establish proactive renewal and price review processes.
**Licensing & Contract Strategy**: Own the commercial and licensing framework for how TradingView sources, uses, and distributes market data. Develop deep understanding of licensing models, advise on display/non-display usage, professional/non-professional user distinctions, redistribution rights, and derived data implications. Lead discussions on audits, disputes, and contractual changes, partnering with Legal to ensure commercial decisions align with contractual and exchange requirements.
**Portfolio Economics**: Build fact-based views of portfolio economics, identify opportunities from product usage and market changes, assess new data sources before commitment, develop business cases for major decisions, and establish metrics to measure commercial performance and negotiation impact.
**Cross-functional Leadership**: Provide senior leadership on market data strategy across TradingView, partner with Product and Engineering on data consumption and commercial implications, manage budgeting and forecasting, work with Legal on licensing and contractual matters, and provide clear recommendations to senior leadership.
You will need significant experience in market data from exchanges, data providers, brokers, trading platforms, or investment firms. A strong track record of directly negotiating with exchanges and data providers is essential. Deep knowledge of market data licensing, exchange policies, pricing structures, and commercial models is required. You should demonstrate strong commercial judgment, ability to build credible positions from complex information, and experience managing senior relationships with exchanges and major providers. Leadership experience with specialist teams is important, as is the ability to work effectively across commercial, product, technical, and legal domains.
