Conga is seeking a Senior Director of Legal to lead legal strategy across product development, intellectual property, global data privacy, and AI governance. Reporting to the SVP, General Counsel, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor to product, engineering, design, and cross-functional teams, ensuring Conga's offerings are innovative, compliant, and protected as the company scales globally.
Key responsibilities include: advising product and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle; managing Conga's global intellectual property portfolio (patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets); leading the company's global privacy program to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging regulations; providing guidance on AI/ML governance and emerging technology risks; drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy terms; developing and delivering training on complex legal topics; managing relationships with external counsel and legal budgets; and translating legal requirements into actionable business strategies.
You bring at least 10 years of legal experience, including substantial time as in-house counsel at a SaaS or technology company. You have deep expertise in product counseling, intellectual property law, and global privacy regulation. You are admitted to practice law in good standing in at least one U.S. state or DC, with active bar membership in your work location (or eligibility for in-house counsel registration). You excel at balancing legal risk with business opportunity, communicating complex topics clearly, and leading through influence across functions. Experience with AI/ML technologies, AI governance frameworks, open-source licensing, and legal tech tools is highly valued. You are business-minded, action-oriented, and genuinely excited about the intersection of law and technology.
