Arena Club is a digital marketplace for collectibles, founded by Derek Jeter and Brian Lee. The company offers grading, authentication, vaulting, and digital pack openings for collectors to buy, sell, and showcase their collections. As Senior Director of IT, you will be Arena Club's first dedicated IT hire, responsible for building and scaling the IT function from the ground up. You will own the complete IT strategy, roadmap, and budget, establishing IT as a mature function with clear service levels that support rapid business growth. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and implementing identity and access management end-to-end: SSO/SAML, SCIM provisioning, group and role design, MFA, privileged access management, and a reliable joiner-mover-leaver process. - Managing device infrastructure across macOS and Windows: MDM baselines, encryption, patching, remote wipe, procurement, and offboarding returns. - Owning the SaaS application estate: maintaining inventory, managing admin and role hygiene, reconciling seats against budgets, maintaining renewal calendars, and consolidating vendors. - Driving compliance readiness: managing access reviews, offboarding logs, and control documentation for auditors and partners. - Establishing business continuity and disaster recovery for corporate systems, including backup, testing, and documented plans. - Managing IT vendor and MSP relationships, contracts, and spend; deciding what to build in-house versus outsource. - Designing and executing seamless onboarding and offboarding experiences for all employees. Over time, you will hire and lead a small team. The role requires regular onsite presence, including at the company's operations facility. QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. - 10+ years in IT, including 4+ years leading an IT function or team. - Hands-on identity administration experience: SSO/SAML, SCIM, OAuth, group and role models. - Hands-on device management at scale: MDM for macOS and Windows (Kandji, Jamf, or equivalent). - Expert-level administration of modern SaaS stack (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Okta, Slack, and surrounding tools). - Scripting and automation ability (Bash, PowerShell, Python) and comfort with APIs and integrations. - Demonstrated experience building an IT function from a low baseline, including standing up helpdesk, policy, and asset management from scratch. - Working knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS) and audit evidence production experience. - Genuine service orientation and ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical executives. - Willingness to be onsite regularly, including at operations facility. - Comfort using AI tooling to eliminate repetitive IT work and improve support response.
