Kong is seeking a Senior Director of Finance Systems & Applications to lead the evolution of finance technology as the company accelerates toward IPO and enterprise growth. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining the vision, architecture, and execution of Kong's financial technology ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include owning the strategy and long-term roadmap for core finance systems (NetSuite, Celigo, Brex, Pigment, Zip), ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. You will design and govern mission-critical integrations across the enterprise ecosystem including Salesforce, Workday, and Ashby to ensure accurate, timely data flow. The role requires establishing best-in-class governance, controls, and monitoring to maintain data integrity, strengthen audit readiness, and ensure SOX-compliant financial processes.
You will champion AI-driven transformation within Finance by designing intelligent automations that eliminate manual work, improve reporting accuracy, and accelerate decision-making. Close partnership with Accounting, FP&A, Revenue Operations, HR, and IT teams is essential to translate business requirements into scalable systems solutions. You will lead enterprise-wide finance systems initiatives including implementations, upgrades, migrations, and vendor evaluations from strategy through deployment and adoption.
The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of progressive experience leading Finance Systems in high-growth SaaS organizations, with demonstrated ownership of enterprise financial platforms. You should have proven success scaling finance systems through rapid growth, ideally supporting organizations from $100M to $750M+ ARR in both pre-IPO and public company environments. Deep hands-on expertise administering NetSuite and modern integration platforms (Celigo, Workato, Boomi) is required, along with strong experience implementing finance applications across ERP, FP&A, spend management, procurement, CRM, and HRIS platforms.
You must demonstrate success designing and delivering AI-powered automation solutions with measurable improvements in finance operations. Strong SQL and analytical skills are essential for independently investigating data issues and ensuring financial data accuracy. A strategic mindset combined with hands-on technical expertise, balanced with excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, is critical for success.
