Salary: USD 185,000 - 210,000 / annual
Muon Space, a LEO satellite constellation and Earth intelligence provider founded in 2021, seeks a Senior Director of Business Development to lead and grow federal business with the U.S. Intelligence Community and Department of War. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Growth, you will lead the Federal BD team, develop multi-year capture strategies, manage customer engagement pipelines, and drive proposal efforts from initial contact through contract award. You will mentor and manage the BD team, collaborate with engineering and finance on opportunities, and serve as a capture manager for major new business initiatives.
Key responsibilities include driving near-term and long-term growth in the USG Federal market, developing cohesive strategies for target organizations, identifying and capturing new opportunities, leading proposal development (including win themes, technical solutions, and pricing), maintaining customer engagement plans, and providing customer input to the product technology roadmap. You will leverage internal tools and processes to track opportunities, work cross-functionally with legal and finance, and travel up to 25% of the time.
Required qualifications: 10+ years aerospace/defense experience with 8+ years in business development; demonstrated success capturing space business within the Intelligence Community; experience with USG captures and proposal support/leadership; ability to build and execute plans with clear ownership; active TS clearance. Desired qualifications include a master's degree in a technical field, P&L responsibility, experience with remote sensing satellite development, and familiarity with systems engineering processes.
