Salary: USD 200,000 - 270,000 / annual
Metropolis Technologies is seeking a Senior Director, Assistant Controller to lead and scale corporate accounting operations as the company experiences rapid growth. This is a strategic leadership role reporting to the VP Controller, responsible for overseeing the complete accounting function across all entities and business units.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving best-in-class monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all entities
- Serving as a trusted strategic advisor to the VP Controller, co-authoring the accounting roadmap and providing insights on financial health
- Modernizing accounting operations by embedding AI, automation, and modern systems into close, consolidation, and reconciliation workflows
- Designing and enforcing scalable internal controls with SOX readiness, managing complex technical accounting (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805) and global consolidations
- Building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing accounting team focused on ownership and operational excellence
- Managing relationships with external auditors and ensuring audit readiness
- Partnering with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Operations teams to support business initiatives
Required qualifications:
- 12+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership in high-growth, complex enterprise or technology environments
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with active CPA certification
- Deep expertise in US GAAP, global multi-currency consolidations, and enterprise financial reporting
- Proven success implementing or optimizing tier-1 ERPs (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership
- Executive-level communication skills for board and non-finance audiences
Preferred qualifications include public accounting experience, advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Accounting/Finance), and experience with M&A integration, international expansion, and SOX implementation.
