Salary: USD 200,000 - 240,000 / annual

Metropolis Technologies is seeking a Senior Director, Assistant Controller to lead and scale corporate accounting operations as the company experiences rapid growth. Reporting to the VP Controller, you will own the end-to-end accounting function across all entities and business units, driving best-in-class monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Key responsibilities include overseeing accelerated financial close cycles, modernizing accounting workflows through AI and automation (close, consolidation, reconciliation), designing and enforcing SOX-ready internal controls, and managing complex technical accounting (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805) and global consolidations. You will build and mentor a world-class accounting team, fostering a culture of ownership and operational excellence. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to finance leadership, translating complex business shifts into practical accounting workflows and delivering actionable insights on financial results and balance sheet health. Additionally, you will direct relationships with external auditors, manage technical position papers and audit readiness, and partner closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Product/Operations to support new business initiatives and ensure seamless financial data flow across the enterprise. Required qualifications: 12+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership in high-growth, complex enterprise or technology environments; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with active CPA certification; deep mastery of US GAAP, global multi-currency consolidations, and enterprise financial reporting; demonstrated success implementing or optimizing tier-1 ERPs (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle); and executive-level communication skills. Preferred: public accounting experience, Master's degree (MBA or Master's in Accounting/Finance), and experience with M&A integration, international expansion, and SOX implementation. The role requires 4 days per week in-office in Nashville to foster collaboration and culture.
