Jane App is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead the Dev Acceleration team, a group focused on experimenting with AI-assisted development tools to help engineers build and ship software faster. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will manage a small team of senior engineers who explore new AI approaches and return to build solutions together.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Leading and coaching a small, experienced engineering team exploring AI-assisted development approaches
- Championing AI adoption across the engineering organization through clear communication and change management
- Partnering with developers across Jane to understand current workflows and ensure experiments solve real problems
- Defining success metrics and measurement frameworks to track progress while maintaining quality standards
- Connecting teams experimenting with AI to share learnings and accelerate organizational adoption
This is a high-visibility role that will shape how Jane's entire engineering organization works with AI. You'll work closely with developers across the company, communicate transparently about changes, and help teams get excited about new capabilities. You won't have a traditional product/design/engineering triad, so strong cross-functional collaboration and direct developer engagement are essential.

- Strong communication skills with software evangelist energy and demonstrated experience leading organizational change
- Ability to explain problems and solutions clearly while keeping stakeholders engaged
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to enable product teams with deep, meaningful support
- Pragmatic operator mindset: comfortable diving into measurement details, defining success criteria, and building strategy iteratively
- Experience moving quickly to establish baselines so longer-term decisions are made with confidence
Note: The posting states "If you don't meet every single qualification but are excited about this role, we'd still love to hear from you."
