Key responsibilities include: - Serve as subject-matter expert on industry-standard digital design platforms (Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD) and provide context to software teams for feature decisions - Own execution and evolution of digital design integrations, plugins, scripts, and data structures that surface ICON's building products in design platforms - Build and maintain LLM-driven or agentic tooling within design environments, including BIM plugins and design-automation scripts - Define and maintain design rulesets and BIM input parameters; resolve edge cases - Establish QA and validation protocols for released design integrations with versioned releases and regression coverage - Review building product requirements from domain technical leads and identify needed revisions to design integrations - Partner with software teams on features requiring deep BIM and computational-geometry input - Work with product teams to identify hardware technology requirements for the design space - Coordinate testing of software implementations with domain technical leads - Engage in technical discovery with internal and customer-facing teams, translating workflow friction into product requirements - Author and maintain technical reference documentation and usage standards - Identify and propose new tool and process integrations, including physical-to-digital bridging opportunities - Provide regular progress updates to department and product leadership Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Computer Science, or related technical field. 8+ years in BIM-driven design, design-to-fabrication workflows, or construction technology (or 6+ years with Master's; 3+ years with Ph.D.). Advanced proficiency in Revit and complementary BIM/CAD tools with demonstrated track record of shipping design integrations. Software delivery experience including shipping internal tools or platform features. Strong understanding of construction and design industry practices including structural systems and construction sequencing. Proven ability to translate architectural and building-science requirements into technical specifications. Preferred: Depth in computational geometry and BIM interoperability (NURBS, BREP, IFC schema); experience productizing construction elements; background in 3D printing, robotics, or advanced manufacturing for construction; exposure to physical-to-digital data pipelines.
