LumApps, now partnered with Beekeeper, is an AI-powered Employee Hub serving Fortune 500 companies globally. The platform is recognized as a leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Intranet Packaged Solutions and Forrester Wave Intranets. The company has 600+ employees across 11 offices and is undergoing ambitious transformation under new shareholder Bridgepoint.
You will manage a team of 8 product designers embedded across product tribes, reporting to the Head of Design. Your core responsibility is to own and articulate the vision for AI-native experiences in the Employee Hub, ensuring this vision guides the team's design work and lands in shipped products.
Key Missions:
**AI Experience Vision**: Author and maintain the written vision for AI-native experiences covering both desk and frontline workers, web and mobile. Build experience principles and reference designs the team works toward. Collaborate with the AI tribe on agent behavior and quality standards.
**People Management**: Conduct 1:1s, manage career development, set objectives aligned with each designer's growth trajectory, and conduct evaluations and calibrations. Build individual career paths at each person's pace.
**Leading Through Transformation**: Guide the team through the AI shift on both experience and tooling sides. Challenge designers to work against the AI-native vision in their delivery. Drive adoption of AI tools in daily design practice, build necessary skills, and expand craft as tooling matures—enabling designers to own topics end-to-end from discovery through shipped experience.
**Player-Coach Model**: You remain close enough to design work to challenge designs in review while being senior enough not to do the work for them. You're comfortable managing through change in a mid-merger, mid-transformation environment.
The role exists because AI-native thinking requires rethinking whole parts of the product. Existing interfaces are being challenged, redesigned, and in some cases replaced by AI-native ones. Design itself is changing as AI tooling reshapes how designers work in discovery and delivery.
Work Environment: Hybrid (2 days office, 3 days remote). The company offers RTT days (10 extra days off annually), meal vouchers, yoga classes, parental leave support, health insurance (60% covered), professional development, and language lessons. Equipment of choice provided.
**Requirements**:
- 3+ years managing several designers
- Demonstrated experience articulating and landing a UX vision (not just designing within one)
- Direct experience designing AI experiences: agents, copilots, generative UI, conversational products, with strong opinions on when AI improves vs. detracts from experience
- Experience designing for frontline or mobile-first users, or deep understanding of why AI experiences for these users cannot be desktop patterns shrunk down
- Player-coach capability: able to challenge design work in reviews while empowering designers to own their work
- Comfort managing through organizational change and transformation
- Full professional proficiency in English (working language)
- French is a strong plus
