Salary: USD 180,000 - 350,000 / annual
ChipAgents is building an agentic-AI platform that revolutionizes chip design and verification workflows. The company partners with top-10 semiconductor companies, hyperscale cloud providers, and cutting-edge startups to accelerate RTL development, functional verification, and simulation.
As Senior Design Engineer, you will own the complete product experience across multiple interfaces—CLI, web, IDE, desktop, and agent-native platforms. This is a product-focused engineering role for someone with exceptional judgment about how technical software should work. You will identify user problems, define workflows and interaction models, and ensure the final experience is coherent, intuitive, and effective.
Key responsibilities include translating complex chip design workflows into clear, efficient product experiences; defining how users interact with AI agents (task creation, progress, review, approval, interruption, recovery, failure handling); working directly with customers and domain experts to understand their needs; developing prototypes and production interfaces when code is the fastest validation path; and reviewing product work across the engineering team to maintain quality standards.
You will work directly with customers, domain experts, engineers, AI researchers, and leadership to shape the product from problem definition through launch and iteration. While you may implement major parts of the experience yourself, your responsibility extends beyond the code you personally write. This is not a traditional design role focused on mockups, nor a conventional frontend role implementing specifications—you own how the product works.
Required qualifications: strong experience building and shipping user-facing software; excellent frontend or product engineering skills; exceptional product, interaction design, and information architecture judgment; comfort making decisions under ambiguity and driving alignment without formal authority; ability to reason through complete workflows including edge cases and failure states; experience working directly with users and translating technical needs into product decisions; ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technical domains.
Nice-to-haves include experience building AI-native products, agents, copilots, or systems with probabilistic behavior; developer tools, CLI products, IDE integrations, or technical enterprise software; semiconductor design, verification, EDA tooling, or hardware engineering workflows; designing products across multiple interfaces.
