Salary: USD 182,800 - 247,300 / annual
Duolingo is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to embed with product development teams focused on user growth. You will work collaboratively across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Finance to drive data-informed decision-making and deliver scalable data products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embedding within product teams to build strong stakeholder relationships and deliver analyses that move team outcomes
- Owning prioritization and ROI assessment of data science opportunities within your growth area
- Translating complex quantitative findings into clear narratives for leadership and cross-functional partners
- Contributing to analytical foundations in Growth by developing definitions, methodological guidelines, and self-serve dashboards
- Mentoring and learning from other data scientists across the company
Required qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist embedded with or supporting product development teams
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to distill complex work into actionable insights
- Graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field (or equivalent demonstrated expertise)
- Strong command of SQL, Python or R, AI tools, and data/analytics engineering ecosystems
- Fluency with standard machine learning and predictive modeling techniques
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience at high-growth, data-intensive consumer technology companies, particularly in user growth
- Experience building, maintaining, and improving production machine learning models and supporting infrastructure
