Binance.US is a licensed and regulated U.S. cryptocurrency exchange and a top-ranked crypto platform. The Senior Data Scientist - Risk role is part of the Data & Analytics team, reporting to the Director of Product Analytics.
You will develop advanced machine learning-based fraud and risk models to combat financial crimes, safeguard user funds, and reduce risk-related losses while improving pass rates. Key responsibilities include building ML-based fraud detection systems, designing and analyzing A/B experiments to evaluate model impact, creating new risk signals for fraud detection and malicious activity identification, and defining metrics for Risk & Compliance monitoring.
You will provide technical leadership to Risk & Compliance teams, design automation tools to facilitate smart decision-making, conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify and mitigate fraud, and collaborate across Product, Compliance, and Marketing teams. As priorities evolve, you'll tackle high-impact projects addressing business needs in a fast-moving fintech environment.
Required experience: 6+ years in Data Science/Analytics with 3+ years in Financial Risk. You must be proficient in SQL and Python or R, with demonstrated expertise in building ML-based fraud and risk models. Strong understanding of risk analytics, statistical concepts, and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences are essential. Experience designing data visualizations and dashboards, working in high-growth tech environments, and prior fintech experience are highly valued.
