As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will lead the scaling and modernization of EarnIn's data infrastructure. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing enterprise-grade data platforms, automating manual operations through AI-driven solutions, and architecting sophisticated data systems to support complex business needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead data infrastructure scaling initiatives and streamline data delivery pipelines
- Design and implement AI automation to replace manual operational processes
- Develop AI-based analytical tools integrated with data pipelines for business insights (customer growth, operational efficiency)
- Architect and manage large-scale, complex datasets meeting evolving business requirements
- Provide high-level technical support to executive, product, data, and design teams on data infrastructure challenges
- Mentor and collaborate with senior engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews
- Define technical direction, plan roadmaps, and synthesize cross-team feedback
- Estimate and manage project timelines and risks
- Participate in hiring and onboarding for new team members
- Lead cross-team engineering initiatives
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure with ability to lead complex projects
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Deep knowledge of Kafka and event-driven systems in cloud environments
- Proficiency in Python and Scala
- Strong understanding of distributed computing frameworks (Apache Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Expertise in database design, SQL, and NoSQL databases with large dataset optimization experience
- Proficiency in Git, Terraform, and CI/CD practices
- Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and data quality management
- Expertise in data security principles (encryption, secure storage, transfer protocols)
- Good understanding of ML engineering
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc.)
Nice to have: Databricks experience.
The role is hybrid from the Bengaluru office with 2+ days in-office requirement. EarnIn offers healthcare, internet/cell phone reimbursement, learning and development stipend, and opportunities to collaborate with and travel to Mountain View HQ and Bangkok offices.
