As a Senior Data Scientist - Insights, you'll be embedded within a cross-functional product squad, working closely with product managers, tech leads, designers, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights that shape business decisions. You'll develop deep understanding of Preply's two-sided marketplace dynamics, user behavior, and subscription economics.
Key responsibilities include: analyzing customer behavior and product usage to understand retention drivers; quantifying the impact of new product features and initiatives; designing and executing large-scale A/B tests; defining KPIs and tracking events aligned with business goals; identifying growth opportunities and contributing to product roadmap prioritization; and communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You'll need strong experience in product analytics, A/B testing with solid statistical foundations, and proficiency in SQL and/or Python. Expertise in conversion, LTV, cohort analysis, and retention metrics is essential. The role values curiosity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to craft compelling data narratives that drive organizational change.
Nice-to-have qualifications include background in two-sided marketplaces, experience with product analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap), familiarity with machine learning applications, data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI), advanced degrees in quantitative fields, and mentoring experience.
