Salary: USD 133,000 - 185,000 / annual
Chime is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Growth Product to partner with product, engineering, and design teams to drive measurable impact across the member journey—from acquisition through conversion to long-term retention. This role sits at the intersection of product, data, and experimentation, owning funnels end-to-end, designing and analyzing A/B tests, and translating business questions into clear, prioritized recommendations.
You will operate as an independent thought partner to Product, Engineering, and Design, helping shape strategy beyond measurement. Key responsibilities include developing a robust experimentation program with metric creation, experiment design, and power analysis; driving data-informed decision-making by equipping teams with self-service analytics and conducting ad hoc analyses; applying advanced statistical methods for causal inference, time-series forecasting, and machine learning for customer segmentation; building metrics to measure user funnels, engagement, and retention; establishing high-quality event tracking for detailed user behavior in Chime's mobile app; developing team metrics and operational dashboards for business and product health; translating complex findings into executive-ready narratives; and developing data pipelines in dbt to improve data quality and accessibility.
Required qualifications include 5-7 years of hands-on experience in product or business analytics (FinTech preferred), expert-level SQL and Python proficiency, broad knowledge of applied statistics and experimental design, demonstrated experience as a trusted advisor to senior cross-functional partners, strong bias toward proactive problem discovery, business intuition and prioritization frameworks, exceptional data storytelling and visualization skills (Hex and Looker experience valued), familiarity with data pipeline tools like dbt or Airflow, and familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
