Join Duolingo's Growth Data Science team as a Senior Data Scientist focused on user growth forecasting. You'll collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners in Product, Finance, and Strategy to develop and deliver business-critical quarterly forecasts that inform strategic decisions for a platform serving half a billion learners worldwide.
In this role, you will mentor junior data scientists and lead methodological advances in forecasting capabilities. You'll work with diverse stakeholders to build forecasts that reflect deep understanding of product development, strategic bets, and evolving business priorities. A key responsibility is translating complex analytical findings into clear narratives for senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions through both technical depth and effective communication.
You'll develop and validate new forecasting methodologies, build robust systems and processes to ensure repeatable forecasting, and operate at the intersection of data science, product strategy, and business planning. The role demands strong technical skills in SQL, Python, and analytics engineering, combined with exceptional ability to connect technical results to real-world business recommendations.
Required qualifications include industry experience building forecasts in real-world settings, a graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field (or equivalent demonstrated expertise), and proven ability to translate product and business changes into technical requirements. Exceptional candidates will have experience at high-growth consumer tech companies with user growth forecasting expertise, experience at public companies with investor-grade reporting demands, and deep familiarity with Duolingo's product.
