Jerry.ai is a fintech platform that simplifies the ownership experience for cars and homes. Starting with car insurance in 2019, the company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, and achieved profitability in early 2024. The company is now expanding into adjacent verticals (home, motorcycle, RV) with a goal to reach 50M customers and become a $10B business within four years. The Data Science & Analytics team consists of 14 analytical professionals, many with backgrounds from top consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Bain). Team members are embedded within core business units—Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, and Strategic Partnerships—where they drive insights and inform decision-making across the organization. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be embedded in one of Jerry's core business areas and own the analytical function for that business unit end-to-end. Your responsibilities include: • Define the right problems: Understand what business question each analysis answers and what decision it will inform. Push back on flawed questions and ensure analytical work is strategically aligned. • Data and insights: Define key metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface insights that move your team's key metrics. • Drive outcomes: Bring recommendations to product, growth, finance, or operations counterparts. Communicate findings clearly, explain the "why," and recommend next steps. You will work with SQL (Clickhouse), Metabase, Python, Jupyter Hub, and GitHub. This is a hands-on role combining strategy with execution—you'll surface insights, drive decisions, and see them through end-to-end. The culture emphasizes substance over process: no unnecessary slides, corporate fluff, or approval bottlenecks. Required qualifications: • 4+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company • Strong analytical skills; ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently • Track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering measurable impact • Clear, persuasive communicator who can influence decisions at the leadership level Ideal candidates are first-principles thinkers who ask "what are we trying to solve?" before diving into analysis, direct communicators who can walk skeptical stakeholders through complex findings, and owners who take responsibility for outcomes even outside their immediate domain.
