Jerry.ai is a high-growth fintech platform that has transformed car insurance and adjacent asset management. Starting in 2019 with car insurance, the company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and achieved profitability in early 2024. The company is now expanding into home, motorcycle, RV, and other physical asset verticals with an ambitious goal to reach 50M customers and become a $10B business within four years.
The Data Science & Analytics team is composed of former McKinsey, BCG, and Bain consultants who serve as analytical powerhouses driving insights and decision-making across product, growth, tech, and operations. Each business unit has an embedded data scientist who shapes strategic questions, informs critical decisions, and drives execution.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be embedded within one of Jerry's core business areas—growth marketing, product development, AI & automation, or strategic partnerships—and own the analytical function end-to-end for that unit. Your responsibilities include defining the right business problems before analysis, building metrics and reports, designing experiments, running analyses, and surfacing insights that move key metrics. You will communicate findings to stakeholders across product, growth, finance, and operations, providing clear recommendations and driving outcomes.
You are a first-principles thinker who breaks ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before diving into data. You combine strong analytical skills (SQL, Python) with business acumen and the ability to ask "what are we trying to solve?" before jumping to implementation. You are a direct communicator who can walk skeptical stakeholders through complex findings and secure buy-in. You act as an owner—if something is broken, you feel responsible for fixing it, even outside your immediate domain.
Required qualifications include 4+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company; strong analytical skills with ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently; a track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering impact; and the ability to communicate persuasively and influence decisions at the leadership level.
The team uses SQL (Clickhouse), Metabase, Python, Jupyter Hub, and GitHub. Jerry emphasizes a no-slides, no-corporate-fluff culture where only work that materially changes business trajectory gets done. This is a hands-on role combining strategy with execution.
