Confido is an AI infrastructure platform serving 200+ CPG brands (OLIPOP, Simple Mills, Dr. Squatch, Tropicana) to unify finance, accounting, sales, and operations. The company is growing 5x year-over-year with a small team in NYC.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will build production-grade models that directly influence CPG decision-making. Your work spans demand forecasting, promotional effectiveness measurement, and data quality assurance across a uniquely broad dataset spanning sell-through, inventory, deductions, trade promotions, and supply-chain signals from 200+ brands.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop demand and sales forecasting models to improve prediction quality across thousands of noisy, real-world retail time series
- Measure promotion effectiveness, including lift, price elasticity, and cannibalization analysis so brands understand which promotions drive ROI
- Build statistical checks and data quality frameworks to maintain model integrity as messy data flows through the system
- Move from exploratory analysis to production-grade insights alongside the AI/ML engineering team
- Communicate complex models to non-technical brand operators and defend methodologies to ML engineers
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on data science with real-world (not benchmark) data
- Strong statistical foundations: regression, time-series methods, experiment design, uncertainty quantification
- Fluent in Python and SQL; comfortable with modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt)
- Rigorous validation mindset; you sanity-check analyses and communicate uncertainty clearly
Bonus experience:
- Retail, CPG, supply chain, or demand-planning domain knowledge
- Shipping models into production systems (not just offline analysis)
- Forecasting at scale (hierarchical forecasting, intermittent demand)
Compensation and benefits include equity ownership, 100% paid health coverage, top-tier dental/vision, 12 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited PTO with regular 4-day weekends, 401(k), paid relocation support, fully equipped workspace, and team perks including catered lunches and access to CPG brand products.
