Ceartas is an AI-powered brand protection and digital security company protecting content creators, brands, and enterprises worldwide. As a Senior Data & Python Software Engineer, you'll lead the design and development of scalable web data extraction pipelines and backend services that power the company's core brand protection workflows. You'll own the full lifecycle of data systems—from collection through processing to storage—ensuring reliability, performance, and governance at scale. Key responsibilities include designing high-performance web scraping systems and APIs, building reliable ingestion and processing workflows for large-scale web data, implementing data quality and validation standards, and optimizing systems for performance and cost efficiency. You'll work closely with the CTO and Head of Engineering to steer the Data Engineering Team toward innovative solutions for digital security challenges. This includes monitoring and debugging production systems using observability tools, taking independent ownership of critical systems, and collaborating with product and engineering teams on end-to-end feature delivery. Required skills: strong Python and SQL expertise, hands-on web scraping experience, experience designing and building scalable APIs and backend services (FastAPI, Django, or similar), proficiency with relational databases like PostgreSQL, cloud deployment experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and Docker containerization. Preferred qualifications include workflow orchestration tools (Airflow), browser automation (Playwright, Selenium), DBT, high-concurrency systems experience, AWS cloud-native workflows, CI/CD familiarity, and early-stage startup background. A technical degree (CS, Engineering, or similar) is expected; Master's preferred. 4+ years of experience or 2+ years in an early-stage startup.
