Horizon3.ai is a fast-growing cybersecurity company building NodeZero, an autonomous penetration testing platform used by organizations ranging from educational institutions to Global 100 enterprises. The company is seeking a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and own the data platform supporting business-critical pipelines.
In this role, you will design and maintain data pipelines including data ingestion and AWS Glue/Spark jobs feeding the warehouse and Tableau. You'll build and operate core data infrastructure spanning the data warehouse, orchestration, and BI/reporting platform deployed across multiple regions. You'll help evaluate and shape the warehouse strategy, including lakehouse platforms such as Databricks, and define event-driven contracts between producer and consumer teams, reasoning through batch vs. streaming, CDC, reprocessing, and multi-tenant/multi-region trade-offs.
Key responsibilities include designing and evolving warehouse schemas and data models, building observability into pipelines and platform components, and driving work across producer and consumer teams while communicating clearly and owning outcomes end to end.
You should bring strong software engineering fundamentals with clean, correct, maintainable code. You need deep understanding of distributed systems and data architecture, including pipeline and platform design, batch vs. streaming patterns, CDC, event contracts, and multi-tenant/multi-region trade-offs. Fluent SQL and strong data-modeling skills are essential, along with experience owning production data infrastructure end to end. You'll need 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend software engineering, plus a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Required technical skills include AWS data stack (Glue, Spark), cloud data warehouse or lakehouse platforms (Redshift, Databricks), Tableau or comparable BI tools, SQL, Python, and workflow orchestration tooling (Airflow, Dagster). The role is fully remote and offers competitive compensation with equity, comprehensive benefits, flexible vacation, and generous parental leave.
