Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 / annual
Join Infinity as a Senior Data Engineer to design and ship the data infrastructure at the core of a modern data platform company. You'll architect end-to-end data platforms, build scalable and secure pipelines, and create data models that serve business, analytics, and AI consumption. This is a client-facing role where you'll work directly with the CEO and a small senior team, translating business problems into technical architecture and owning results from day one.
You'll be responsible for implementing modern data platforms using technologies like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks. You'll design and build production-grade ingestion and transformation pipelines with proper access controls, data governance, and encryption built in from the start. Your expertise in data modeling approaches—star schema, Data Vault, OBT—will guide architectural decisions based on business context.
Streaming and real-time systems are a key part of this role. You'll implement production streaming pipelines using Kafka, Flink, Redpanda, or similar technologies, understanding operational realities like schema evolution, backpressure, and exactly-once semantics. You'll also work directly with client teams to scope requirements, present architecture decisions, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and business leaders.
You bring significant experience building production data systems with senior-level ownership of architecture decisions. You have deep, hands-on knowledge of modern data architecture and platforms—not just usage but implementation experience. You're skilled in orchestration, transformation frameworks like dbt, and cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP). You have strong opinions on data modeling best practices and the judgment to select the right approach for each problem. Your communication skills are excellent, and you're oriented toward results and business impact, not just technical elegance. You have a bias for action and will write queries, sketch schemas, or build prototypes to move things forward.
This is a fully remote position with the expectation of working primarily Eastern Time hours to align with the team and clients. You'll help define what the platform is and your scope will grow as the company does.
