The company monitors over a trillion events daily for financial institutions and regulators worldwide, with offices on Wall Street, Singapore, Tel Aviv, and London.
You will own the design and optimization of the ClickHouse data layer, a critical infrastructure component handling billions of events at scale. Your responsibilities include architecting table engines, partition strategies, materialized views, and storage policies to ensure high performance. You'll manage ClickHouse cluster sizing, topology decisions, and capacity planning for both real-time ingestion and T+1 batch workloads, balancing cost, latency, and throughput constraints.
Data reliability is paramount. You'll drive deduplication strategies leveraging ClickHouse engine-level features (ReplacingMergeTree, CollapsingMergeTree) and pipeline-level controls to guarantee data completeness and consistency. You'll establish comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability across the ClickHouse layer, covering replication health, merge performance, query latency, and resource utilization.
Beyond infrastructure, you'll serve as the internal ClickHouse authority, coaching engineering teams on query optimization, data modeling best practices, and efficient use of ClickHouse-specific constructs. You'll act as the primary liaison with the ClickHouse vendor team, triaging issues, incorporating feedback, and evaluating new features.
You'll collaborate with downstream consumers—analytics, ML, and product teams—to understand access patterns and continuously refine data storage and serving strategies. You'll define and enforce schema versioning and governance standards, ensuring schema evolution doesn't compromise pipeline reliability or consumer compatibility.
