The Data and AI team within Business Technology is seeking a Senior Data Engineer II who brings a software engineer's mindset to data infrastructure. This role goes beyond pipeline building—you'll architect systems, design data platforms as products, and build intelligent tooling including MCP servers and AI agents that automate data engineering workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and backend ingestion workflows
- Architect Spark-driven workflows at scale
- Manage data APIs and design data platforms as products
- Work with diverse data sources including ERP (Netsuite), CRM (Salesforce), product, order flow, and support ticket data
- Build next-generation intelligent tooling and AI agents to accelerate data engineering
- Enable integrated data layers across Samsara to support data-driven decision-making
- Participate in building Samsara's Data Platform for advanced automation and analytics
