Imagine Learning seeks a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale data platforms powering business intelligence, product innovation, and operational decision-making in K-12 education technology. You will design reliable data pipelines, transform complex datasets into actionable insights, and collaborate with product engineering, analytics, and technology teams to shape data-driven learning experiences.
Key responsibilities include managing and optimizing data processing pipelines across transactional SQL/NoSQL, streaming, and batch environments; partnering with product engineering to design scalable data architectures; developing data solutions using Python, SQL, Java, Apache Kafka, Snowflake, and Databricks; and supporting operational reliability of data infrastructure. You will transform complex data into meaningful information for stakeholders, gather requirements, identify gaps, and build roadmaps aligning data solutions with business goals.
You will participate in agile ceremonies, build efficient engineering processes to improve speed and quality, perform data analysis and warehousing activities, and mentor engineers to promote engineering excellence across the team.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant data engineering experience (or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD equivalent). Strong expertise in data engineering, data modeling, and distributed data processing. Advanced proficiency in at least one core programming language and framework. Hands-on experience with data warehouses and data lakes (Snowflake, Databricks). Knowledge of cloud-native and DevOps technologies (Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, AWS CodeBuild, OKTA, OAuth). Full SDLC experience. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.
