Jump is a fan engagement platform for sports teams and venues, unifying ticketing, merchandise, and game day operations. Founded by Marc Lore, Alex Rodriguez, and Jordy Leiser, the company powers teams across NBA, WNBA, and NWSL. As Senior Data Engineer, you'll own the reliability and performance of Jump's Snowflake and dbt-powered data platform. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role spanning data platform, analytics engineering, and infrastructure. You'll build ELT pipelines that transform raw data into modular, well-tested dbt models; design and maintain reliable data orchestration as complexity grows; write and maintain dbt tests to catch issues early; document models for discoverability; build monitoring and alerting for pipeline failures and data anomalies; optimize Snowflake table design and materialization strategy; evolve Snowflake access controls and governance; translate internal and external client data needs into solutions; apply strong engineering discipline with version control and CI/CD; and build data infrastructure supporting new AI/ML use cases. You'll need 6+ years of data engineering experience with ability to independently own complex systems from design through production. Strong product and stakeholder instincts are essential—translating ambiguous business needs into durable solutions. Deep production-grade SQL and Snowflake expertise required, along with deep dbt experience including testing, documentation, dependencies, and deployment. Software engineering discipline is critical: Git-based version control, CI/CD for data pipelines, and strong Python skills. Track record of building testing, monitoring, and alerting proactively is expected. Nice-to-haves include BI/analytics tools (Sigma), orchestration tooling, cloud platform depth, and exposure to ML/AI or streaming pipelines. Success on the team requires curiosity and desire to learn, tenacity to tackle hard problems, passion for solving real issues, empathy in a diverse environment, customer-centric mindset, and passion for AI technologies.
