GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Insights team in Buenos Aires. This hybrid role focuses on building and maintaining robust data infrastructure that powers analytics, data science, and data product development across the platform.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining the enterprise data warehouse built on Snowflake, designing and orchestrating ELT data pipelines that ingest data from databases, streaming sources, and web APIs, and implementing reverse ETL to integrate warehouse data into third-party tools. You will develop and sustain REST API endpoints for data science products, monitor and optimize Snowflake usage for cost-effectiveness and performance, and collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to formulate data solutions. The role also involves researching innovative technologies and driving continuous improvements to existing data infrastructure.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of data engineering experience building and maintaining business data warehouses with structured and unstructured data. You must be proficient in building and orchestrating data pipelines using ETL/data preparation tools, with expertise in orchestration platforms like Airflow or Prefect. Strong SQL optimization skills, proficiency in Python, Java, C++, or similar languages, and required hands-on experience with Snowflake are essential. Additional required skills include connecting data through web APIs across systems and solid understanding of database architecture and best practices.
Highly desirable qualifications include Snowflake optimization experience, DBT expertise, and understanding of data science and machine learning technologies. Experience with event and user tracking tools (GA, Heap, CDPs), Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, and Kubernetes/AWS EKS is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is desirable.
