Namespace Labs is a developer infrastructure platform that accelerates CI/CD pipelines and build processes for engineering teams worldwide. The company operates its own bare metal infrastructure across Linux, macOS, and Windows platforms, and is expanding its global data center footprint.
As Senior Data Center Operations Manager, you will own the end-to-end physical infrastructure build-out for the US footprint. This is a hands-on leadership role bridging operations, engineering, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own data center site selection, cage design, deployment, and go-live through steady-state operations
- Manage power budgets, cooling strategies, and rack density with colocation providers
- Deploy and maintain optimized compute, memory, and storage servers with associated cabling and networking
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers on rack design, network capacity, and peering; feed operational learnings back into design iterations
- Execute full hardware lifecycle: procurement, delivery logistics, production deployment, runbooks, maintenance, incident response, and root-cause analysis
- Manage hardware vendors, data center contractors, and SLAs; ensure accountability to company standards
- Act as primary bridge between on-site operations, European infrastructure team, and leadership; maintain visibility on timelines and risks
You will work in a small, expert-driven team that balances long-term vision with pragmatic execution. The role requires close collaboration across time zones and a distributed organization.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience building out or operating data centers or large-scale bare metal fleets, including bringing new capacity online
- Deep understanding of data center fundamentals: power distribution, cooling, high-density racks, and high-speed networking
- Proven track record deploying hardware at scale, managing colocation providers, contractors, and vendors
- Comfortable with Linux and macOS
- Strong communication and ownership skills, especially across distributed, time-zone-spanning teams
