You will own end-to-end analysis of payment and chargeback data, investigating what drives net loss and translating findings into shipped product changes. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll break down fraud and loss by driver, investigate emerging trends, design experiments to test risk rule changes, and build monitoring systems that keep the Risk & Compliance team ahead of new threats.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own analysis of user lifecycle activities from on-ramp payments (ACH/Card) through trading to withdrawal; understand anomalies and net loss drivers
- Deep-dive into fraud cases and user profiles to quantify exposure and design/backtest mitigation strategies
- Design and analyze A/B experiments measuring impact of risk rule changes on loss, pass rate, and customer friction
- Leverage ML techniques to surface fraud and loss patterns that manual analysis would miss
- Break down net loss by driver (fraud type, payment method, user segment) and track as core monitoring metric
- Build and maintain dashboards with clear alerting for Risk & Compliance payment metrics
- Partner with Risk, Payments, and Product teams to turn analysis into shipped changes
- Run ad-hoc analysis on emerging fraud and loss trends
Required: 4+ years risk analytics experience, strong SQL, Python or R, hands-on payment/chargeback data experience, A/B testing knowledge, data visualization skills, statistical foundation, and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Fintech or crypto experience preferred. Must thrive in high-growth, fast-moving environments and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
