This Senior Data Analyst role focuses on merchant retention and SaaS analytics. You will own the analytics that power SpotOn's retention strategy and business metrics, working as part of the Finance & Data Analytics team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying drivers behind merchant retention, churn, and software adoption
- Building trusted metrics, dashboards, and analyses used by executives and cross-functional leaders
- Partnering with Product, Customer Success, Finance, Sales, and Engineering to translate insights into action
- Creating scalable reporting, data models, and AI-powered workflows to reduce manual work and improve decision-making
- Measuring the impact of retention initiatives to guide investment decisions
You'll split time between deep analytical work (SQL analysis, data modeling), executive presentations, dashboard development, and process automation. Success is measured by the quality of decisions the business makes based on your insights and ultimately by merchant retention and growth.
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years in Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related analytical role, ideally in Software
- Advanced SQL skills with cloud data warehouse experience (Snowflake preferred)
- Experience with customer retention analyses
- Dashboard and reporting experience (Power BI or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Preferred skills include Python, dbt, AI coding assistants, workflow automation, NetSuite/ERP experience, and SaaS metrics knowledge.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3-4 days per week in the San Francisco office.
