The Helper Bees is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to own analytics and reporting for their Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) product line. This is a senior individual-contributor role where you will work hands-on with SQL, dbt, and BigQuery to build and maintain the data products that business leaders depend on. You will own recurring invoices and partner reporting, delivering them accurately and on time every close. A key responsibility is rebuilding reporting on a modern, governed data stack using dbt—moving logic out of manual SQL and BI-tool calculated fields into tested, version-controlled models. You will build and maintain internal data products including dashboards, BI tools, and self-serve reporting that business partners rely on, and retire legacy reports as you migrate them. You will write and maintain clean, tested SQL against BigQuery, ship changes through a Git workflow, and build/monitor scheduled data pipelines (e.g., Airflow DAGs) so reporting runs without manual intervention. You'll develop a strong mental map from source system (Salesforce) through dbt models to final reports, enabling you to find and fix root causes when numbers diverge. A critical aspect of this role is understanding the business deeply: partner contracts, billing terms (PMPM, per-assessment, flat and admin fees), and operational ground truth. You will partner directly with business and operations leaders—LTCI GM, VP of Ops, product managers—to understand priorities, validate reporting, and reconcile analytics against reality. You will move the analytics function up the maturity curve from descriptive reporting toward predictive and prescriptive analysis, bringing hypotheses about what drives conversion, cost, and outcomes, and delivering analysis that changes operational or product decisions. You are expected to use AI tooling (Cursor, Claude Code) as a genuine multiplier, not a side experiment, and share reusable patterns and prompts with the team. Because The Helper Bees operates in healthcare, you will handle protected health information (PHI) and are expected to treat data accuracy and governance as core to the job. You will work independently, hold a high bar for accuracy and timeliness, and bring opinions about how reporting should be built. You will create and maintain runbooks so reporting can run through your PTO without a single point of failure, and flag and fix logic that is wrong or unclear rather than preserve it.
