Salary: USD 285,000 - 330,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking a Senior Cyber Policy Lead to own governance of access to sensitive cyber-relevant AI model capabilities. This role consolidates controlled-access frameworks, maintains cyber-related product policy commitments as regulatory standards evolve, and serves as Anthropic's primary interface with government and regulatory stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include: owning access-requirements policy and leading consolidation of controlled-access programs; keeping cyber policy commitments current with shifting industry and regulatory standards while ensuring alignment with technical safeguards; serving as primary policy contact with government and regulatory bodies; building relationships across coordinated vulnerability disclosure, cybersecurity policy, and national security communities; authoring and maintaining regulatory reporting; translating technical evaluation and safeguard work into policy positions; and engaging closely with technical teams on probes, classifiers, and access policy.
The role does not require coding but demands deep comfort with technical material and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into policy that withstands regulatory scrutiny. You'll work at the intersection of AI safety, cybersecurity, and government relations.
Minimum qualifications: direct experience engaging with US government and regulatory parties on cybersecurity matters; experience authoring policy positions, formal reporting, or regulatory responses for government audiences; extensive cybersecurity policy background including coordinated vulnerability disclosure.
Preferred qualifications include: experience coordinating sensitive pre-release engagement between companies and government partners; familiarity with government information-sharing and incident-notification frameworks; direct engagement with government agencies on cybersecurity and AI matters; ability to read and interpret technical security material; established relationships across government cybersecurity bodies; background spanning legal, technical, and policy disciplines; active secret clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
This is a hybrid role with expectation of at least 25% in-office time, though some roles may require more.
