Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer to serve as a trusted technical advisor and quota-carrying technologist in the Washington DC region. You will own the technical relationship with enterprise customers across the entire lifecycle—from initial discovery through long-term adoption and account expansion.
In this hybrid role reporting to the Regional Customer Engineering Leader, you will identify and map customer business problems to Cloudflare's security, networking, and developer platform solutions. You'll build deep relationships with technical champions within customer organizations, develop and present architectures at multiple organizational levels, and lead proof-of-concept activities and technical implementations.
Key responsibilities include conducting technical discovery and building bespoke architectures, leading technical onboarding and implementation as the primary engineering contact, and carrying a variable quota tied to new business acquisition and account growth. You will proactively monitor customer health scores and telemetry to ensure rapid time-to-value, lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to demonstrate ROI to C-level executives, and identify strategic cross-sell and upsell opportunities based on product usage data.
You'll leverage AI-augmented workflows to eliminate administrative toil—automating RFP responses, sandbox provisioning, and telemetry monitoring—so you can focus on high-value architectural design and strategic customer advisory. Additionally, you'll demonstrate expertise through content creation (white papers, blog posts) and represent Cloudflare at industry events with thought leadership.
This role requires deep technical knowledge of cloud security, networking, or developer infrastructure, combined with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value. You should be comfortable operating as both a technical expert and a commercial driver, maintaining accountability for customer outcomes and revenue expansion.
