Salary: USD 140,000 - 175,000 / annual
Collibra Public Sector is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer to serve as a technical advisor and trusted partner to U.S. Federal Government agencies. This role bridges presales and post-sale engagement, supporting both net-new and expansion opportunities across the Department of Defense, Civilian agencies, and Intelligence Community.
Key Responsibilities:
Presales & Technical Discovery: Lead in-depth technical discovery sessions to uncover complex agency needs and environments. Own delivery of technical evaluation efforts, coordinating specialists across Data Quality, Privacy, AI Governance, and core platform capabilities. Prepare and own functional and technical sections of RFPs/RFQs.
Demonstration & Presentation: Deliver focused, tailored demonstrations and presentations to key stakeholders. Create sample assets and configure workflows to meet specific client needs. Present customized product roadmaps based on customer priorities and use cases. Lead complex multi-disciplinary workshops involving internal and external stakeholders. Deliver demonstrations addressing specific Federal mandates (e.g., OMB M-24-10 on AI Governance, CDO Council priorities).
Proof of Value & Technical Engagement: Lead technical Proof of Value engagements within agency environments. Ensure successful deployment of Collibra Edge behind agency firewalls. Identify, evaluate, and execute value-based workshops and proof of concepts.
Relationship Management: Act as the technical authority on Collibra's security posture, including FedRAMP (Moderate), IL4/IL5 requirements, and SOC2 compliance. Serve as liaison between clients and internal teams on complex requirements. Develop executive-level credibility with senior-level and strategically important customer/prospect representatives. Build independent relationships to identify growth opportunities. Act as subject matter expert for specific product areas and complex technical domains.
Adoption & Expansion: Architect highly customized and integrated solutions for identified Agency use cases. Collaborate with Solution Architects on solution design. Support customer identification of value and ROI. Design and validate future-state technical architectures for major transformation projects. Help agencies build a "Unified Data Language" to facilitate secure data sharing while maintaining strict access controls. Advise and support customers' technical stakeholders to accelerate adoption and value realization.
Customer Support & Teaming: Address technical questions and overcome objections related to security, scalability, integration, and implementation. Identify adoption roadblocks and ensure successful product usage. Provide onboarding assistance for other Customer Engineers. Maintain expert-level product knowledge. Contribute to competitive strategy development and thought leadership. Support sales, marketing, and field enablement activities.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in Sales Engineering or Technical Consulting, specifically supporting U.S. Federal Government customers
- 4+ years working in the Data/SaaS space
- Proficiency in SQL and deep familiarity with Federal data stacks (Snowflake Government Data Cloud, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Palantir) preferred
- Working knowledge of NIST 800-53, FISMA, and the Federal Data Strategy
- Proven ability to navigate the Federal procurement cycle and build long-term relationships with Agency CDOs, CTOs, and Program Managers
- Broad experience in value-based selling, cost-benefit analysis, ROI analysis, process and project management
- Experience in regulatory compliance and/or financial/IT audit preferred
- Experience with leading PaaS providers, data lakes, databases, and integration platforms required
- Familiarity with enterprise security solutions (LDAP, Kerberos)
- Experience with Data Quality, Data Pipelines, Data Orchestration, and/or Job Control tools
- Knowledge of at least two or three data management processes: data governance, data stewardship, master data management, data cataloging, business rules management
- Experience with Collibra or comparable technologies preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency leveraging AI tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot) to solve business challenges
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience required
- Active security clearance (Secret/TS) required
- U.S. citizen who resides on U.S. soil (required for government business support)

- Excellent organization and stakeholder management skills
- Proven collaborator with experience in partner and contractor-heavy environments
- Confident in dispensing knowledge to highly skilled and experienced audiences
