Nova Credit (US-headquartered fintech) seeks a Senior Country Manager to lead compliance and regulatory affairs for its India subsidiary, Instalogic Technologies Private Limited. This is a strategic leadership role with direct oversight of India's compliance function, regulatory relationships, and partnerships with Credit Information Companies (CICs) and financial institutions.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing regulatory engagement strategy for India operations; building and maintaining working technical understanding of the company's data retrieval architecture, consent flows, and API-based CIC integrations to credibly represent the company in regulatory and partner discussions; monitoring regulatory developments affecting CICs, fintech, and data localization in India; leading responses to regulatory inquiries and examinations; and representing the company at industry forums and policy discussions.
You will manage and mentor the India compliance team, set priorities, allocate resources, and build a high-performing compliance culture. You'll serve as the strategic compliance bridge between US headquarters and India operations, collaborating with senior leaders across finance, legal, information security, and partnerships. You'll also oversee India entity operations, including governance structures, compliance policies, regulatory filings, licenses, and reporting obligations.
Required: 12+ years in compliance, regulatory affairs, or related financial services roles; Bachelor's degree (advanced degree in MBA, LLB, or equivalent preferred); proven track record managing regulatory relationships with partners and financial regulators at senior level; leadership/management experience; strong executive presence; exceptional written and verbal English communication; strategic thinking; demonstrated ability to learn and articulate technical architecture of fintech/data products; comfort engaging with technical and InfoSec stakeholders; strong people management capabilities; excellent judgment in ambiguous situations.
Preferred: Direct experience at a CIC and/or fintech company; track record navigating complex regulatory environments and building stakeholder relationships.
