Salary: USD 210,000 - 225,000 / annual

Ascendis Pharma, a dynamic global biopharmaceutical company, seeks a Senior Counsel for US Commercial & Medical to provide specialized legal guidance on the promotion, advertising, and commercialization of biopharmaceutical products. Based in Princeton, NJ, this role reports to the Associate General Counsel and serves as the legal representative on the promotional review committee for the Brand team. Key responsibilities include advising the Brand team on FDA regulations, the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, and pharmaceutical advertising/promotion laws; drafting, negotiating, and reviewing healthcare professional consulting agreements, vendor agreements, and service agreements; ensuring compliance with Anti-Kickback Statute and US healthcare compliance laws; and supporting Global Medical contracts, US Grant contracts, and US Sponsorship contracts. The ideal candidate holds a JD from an accredited law school, is admitted to practice in at least one US jurisdiction, and brings a minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical advertising, promotion, and commercialization from both pharma companies and law firms. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent negotiation and strategic thinking abilities, and the capacity to build relationships and provide training are essential. The role requires active participation in brand team meetings, risk recognition and mitigation, and up to 20% domestic and international travel. Compensation ranges from $210,000 to $225,000 annually, with eligibility for discretionary annual bonuses, stock-based long-term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) matching, medical/dental/vision coverage, disability benefits, pet and legal insurance, HSA/FSA options, and paid parental leave.
