Midi Health is seeking a Senior Counsel to serve as a practical, business-oriented legal advisor across the organization's clinical, operational, people, product, and commercial functions. The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer and focuses on three primary areas: healthcare regulatory and clinical operations, privacy and data protection, and employment and workforce matters.
In healthcare regulatory and clinical operations, you will advise on federal and state regulatory requirements affecting Midi's virtual care clinic, including telehealth, clinician licensing, scope of practice, corporate practice of medicine, prescribing, pharmacy operations, and compounded products. You'll support regulatory analysis for hormone therapy, non-hormonal medications, supplements, and clinical protocols, and partner with clinical and operations teams on clinician onboarding, credentialing, supervision, and medical practice governance.
For privacy and data protection, you will advise on HIPAA, state health privacy laws, consumer privacy regulations, and data-sharing arrangements. You'll review and negotiate business associate agreements, data processing agreements, and privacy addenda. You'll support privacy-by-design reviews for products, websites, and new business models, and partner with information security and product teams on incident response and breach analysis.
On employment matters, you will partner with People and business leaders on employment agreements, contractor arrangements, restrictive covenants, and employee relations. You'll advise on wage-and-hour issues, worker classification, leave, accommodations, and multistate workforce requirements, with particular focus on clinician employment and contractor relationships.
You will also help build compliance policies, procedures, and training programs, translating legal requirements into operational controls and guidance. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare regulatory experience, sound business judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to move between strategic counsel and hands-on execution.
