Salary: USD 180,000 - 240,000 / annual
Infleqtion, a publicly traded quantum technology company (NYSE: INFQ), is seeking a Senior Counsel for Government Contracts to report to the Chief Legal Officer. This role is approximately 70-80% focused on federal government contracting and 20-30% on broader legal and operational responsibilities within a lean legal team supporting a scaling public company.
Core responsibilities include leading negotiation, interpretation, and management of complex federal government agreements including Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs), federal R&D contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, subcontracts, subawards, and teaming agreements. The role involves advising business and program teams on FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific requirements throughout the opportunity, award, and performance lifecycle. You will identify and manage legal and business risk involving intellectual property and data rights, cost and pricing, audit, cybersecurity, export control, domestic sourcing, labor, payment, and flow-down requirements.
Additional responsibilities include leading internal coordination on significant government-contracting issues, partnering with export control and technical stakeholders on ITAR/EAR requirements, and developing templates, playbooks, and training to enable teams to move quickly while maintaining compliance. You will partner with business development, program management, engineering, and finance on bid and proposal strategy, risk allocation, and program execution. The role also involves supporting internal governance frameworks and providing targeted training to commercial, technical, and program teams.
Required qualifications: JD from accredited law school with strong academic credentials; 8+ years of relevant legal experience with substantial responsibility for federal government contracting (top-tier law firm, in-house defense contractor, or government-contracts practice experience preferred); significant experience negotiating complex federal government contracts and related arrangements; demonstrated expertise in FAR and DFARS with meaningful OTA experience; experience supporting DoD or federal R&D programs as prime contractor or with major defense/aerospace/technology organization; working knowledge of IP and data-rights issues under government contracts; strong executive communication skills; familiarity with ITAR/EAR and export-control issues preferred.
