Bedrock Robotics is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to lead the commercial transactions practice as the company scales its autonomous systems for heavy construction equipment. This role offers the opportunity to shape industry-first deal frameworks and commercialize cutting-edge autonomy technology in the built world.
You will own a wide range of commercial legal matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements governing contractor engagement, autonomous software and service offerings, and partnerships across the construction ecosystem. Key responsibilities include counseling business teams on data, intellectual property, insurance, safety, and privacy principles in novel deployment environments; engaging and negotiating with external partners while integrating risk and legal controls; and collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Business Development, Product, and other teams to operationalize partnerships and launch innovative products.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of commercial legal experience, with demonstrated expertise in software or service-intensive industries. Preferred qualifications include at least 2 years of in-house counsel experience, familiarity with software services agreements, automated vehicles, construction, or fleet operations, and adjacent specialties such as regulatory, privacy, insurance, or intellectual property law. You should be an excellent communicator with strong business judgment, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build consensus across functions in a fast-paced environment.
You must hold a J.D. and be licensed to practice law in at least one state. The role is hybrid (2-3 days per week in office) based in either San Francisco or New York, with occasional travel for company events and partnership meetings.
