Twilio is seeking a Senior Counsel, Commercial to join its growing legal team and support the Go-to-Market Sales organization. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of complex enterprise sales deal negotiations, from review and drafting through execution and management of a broad range of commercial agreements.
You will serve as a trusted advisor to Twilio's sales and internal business teams, providing practical, business-oriented legal counsel that balances risk mitigation with commercial opportunity. Key responsibilities include negotiating and managing Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, NDAs, and other technology transaction documents; advising internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation strategy; ensuring compliance with applicable laws and Twilio's policies; and triaging a high-volume workflow while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of commercial transactions experience, with at least 4 years focused on complex technology transactions (SaaS, software licensing, etc.). You must have a J.D., be a member of a state bar or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status, and have demonstrated success supporting large sales organizations. You should excel at translating complex legal concepts for non-lawyers, maintaining a collaborative approach while advocating for sound legal positions, and delivering results efficiently under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to understand customer and internal stakeholder perspectives and solve problems pragmatically.
This is a remote position based in the US (not eligible for CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, or WA). Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and customer engagement.
