As Senior Counsel - Commercial, you will join a lean, high-impact legal team playing a critical role in enabling Lambda's rapid expansion of its cloud platform, data center footprint, and strategic partnerships. Your work will directly shape how Lambda scales by structuring and negotiating agreements that power the company's most important customer relationships, infrastructure partnerships, and global expansion efforts.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating high-value commercial agreements spanning customer contracts, data center service provider agreements, partner and reseller arrangements, distributor deals, and marketing partnerships. You will partner closely with the AGC to own and manage enterprise deal negotiations, collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance teams to enable deals while ensuring appropriate legal risk management. You'll advise on contract structure and associated risks, use legal technology and automation tools to streamline contracting processes, and identify improvements to the team's operations, templates, and playbooks. The role requires operating independently while providing practical, decisive guidance that balances business objectives with legal risk.
Required qualifications include a J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in at least one U.S. state bar. You need 10+ years of legal experience with at least 3 years in-house, ideally in technology, cloud infrastructure, or SaaS sectors. Extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions on both buy-side and sell-side is essential. You should have a growth mindset, thrive in fast-paced environments managing multiple concurrent projects, and demonstrate team mentality with flexibility to address unique issues in real-time.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience in infrastructure-as-a-service and familiarity with privacy, data security, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
